Frequently Asked Questions
About the treatment
What is Magnetic Tattoo Removal®?
Magnetic Tattoo Removal® by Linda Paradis Group is a branded tattoo and permanent makeup removal program. At LVRA, Elle offers a holistic, personalized approach to fading unwanted pigment or working toward removal. Your skin, ink history, health, and goals guide the treatment plan.
Is this saline or laser removal?
No. The program uses its magnetic cartridge system with E-DERMIS® Ink Extractor Solution, rather than laser energy. The solution is formulated without saline, acids, or TCA.
Which areas can be assessed?
Consultations are available for body tattoos, PMU brows and lips, scalp micropigmentation, and pigment from scar camouflage or BB Glow. The area, skin condition, and previous pigment work are reviewed before treatment is recommended.
Can it address red, yellow, or white ink?
The program is designed for a range of organic and inorganic pigments, including challenging colors such as red, yellow, and white ink containing titanium dioxide. Every pigment behaves differently; suitability and results require individual assessment.
Is it suitable for melanin-rich complexions?
The program is designed for use across skin tones. Elle reviews your complexion, skin condition, pigment history, and healing response to recommend an individual plan.
Planning your visit
What happens during my consultation?
We discuss your removal or lightening goals, tattoo or PMU age, ink density, previous procedures, and skin history. Share relevant health conditions and medications directly with the clinic so treatment suitability can be assessed.
How long is an appointment?
LVRA treatment appointments typically last approximately 90–120 minutes. Your visit includes a consultation, skin preparation, treatment of the scheduled area, and aftercare guidance. Bandaging instructions are demonstrated when appropriate, and an in-clinic two-week follow-up is included.
Will I need more than one session?
Usually, yes. Removal is a gradual process. Pigment composition, age, depth, density, treatment area, previous removal attempts, and your healing response influence the number of sessions. There is no fixed session count or guaranteed level of removal.
How far apart are appointments?
LVRA often plans sessions approximately 4–6 weeks apart. Your next visit is confirmed according to the treatment area, healing progress, and Elle’s assessment. Contact the clinic if healing is delayed or you need to adjust your schedule.
Is the treatment painful? Is numbing used?
Sensitivity varies by person and treatment area. Chemical numbing agents are not used in the program’s protocol. Discuss comfort and expectations with Elle before your appointment; do not apply numbing products without clinic instructions.
Can I switch from a previous removal method?
Possibly. Tell Elle about all previous laser, saline, acid, or other removal procedures, including dates and any skin changes. The area must be assessed and allowed adequate healing before switching methods. Your waiting period is confirmed individually.
Emergency removal inquiries
What if I regret a fresh tattoo or PMU?
Contact LVRA promptly for a time-sensitive assessment. The clinic’s emergency removal guidance focuses on the first 72 hours after fresh pigment work. Availability, suitability, and the amount of pigment that can be removed vary; a message does not confirm treatment.
Text (310) 346-2240 about Emergency Removal
Include “Emergency Removal” and when the pigment was applied. This service addresses fresh pigment concerns; it is not medical emergency care.
Healing & aftercare
What happens after my appointment?
You receive written instructions tailored to your treatment area. Redness, swelling, tenderness, and temporary scabbing may occur. Changes in appearance during healing do not establish the final result. Follow your aftercare plan and attend the recommended follow-up.
What activities should I plan around?
Your aftercare plan may temporarily limit workouts, excessive sweating, swimming, saunas, steam rooms, makeup on the treatment area, and other procedures on that skin. Confirm the restrictions and return-to-activity timing with Elle before leaving the clinic.
Can I be in the sun?
LVRA recommends limiting direct sun exposure for approximately three weeks after treatment. Discuss protective clothing, a large sunhat, sunglasses, or a UV-protective sleeve as appropriate. Follow the clinic’s instructions about sunscreen and products while the skin heals.
When will I see results?
Progress varies. Cosmetic pigment and body tattoo ink may respond at different rates because pigment formulations, placement, and histories differ. Elle reviews your progress over multiple sessions and compares healed results rather than promising a specific timeline.
Are there risks or side effects?
Potential risks include redness, swelling, tenderness, itching, pinpoint bleeding, bruising, scabbing, folliculitis, infection, allergic reaction, delayed healing, scarring, and lighter or darker skin pigmentation. Unexpected complications can occur. The full consent and health review are completed before treatment.
Are results guaranteed?
No. Health, skin condition, genetics, hormones, medications, nutrition, lifestyle, previous removal, aftercare, and treatment consistency can affect the outcome. Multiple sessions may be needed, and no specific degree or speed of removal is guaranteed.
